Project Controls

Project Controls is the data control centre for every project within Proteus. It allows Project Managers to deep dive into the update to date analytics ensuring that the project is on schedule and there are no discrepancies actual vs planned data.

NOTE: The metrics and calculations on the project control pages will slightly differ depending on the selected billing type.

Schedule

Progress Metrics:

  • Actual progress is the total physical progress % recorded across all work packages. This metric is also shown on the project dashboard 'Project Progress'.

  • Planned progress is the where the physical progress was planned to be within the project timeline.

Performance indexes - (If the index is below 1 then that metric is under performing. If its above 1 then its performing better than estimated):

  • SPI (Schedule) this shows the actual progress against the planned progress as an index.

  • CPI (Cost) this shows the actual cost agains the planned cost as an index.

  • RPI (Revenue) this shows the actual revenue agains the planned revenue as an index. RPI doesn't appear for fixed price billing type.

Earned Value Metrics:

  • Estimated at completion (EAC) shows what the Revenue, cost and margin of the project is currently forecasted at.

  • Variance at completion (VAC) is the difference between the planned and EAC.

Data

The data tab provides users will an extensive list of all available project tracking data.

This data can also be exported into an excel document allowing project managers to manipulate the data in a familiar environment.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Most of the project controls data relies on the provided timeline to ensure accurate results so If work packages are missing the start and end dates this data will be inaccurate.

Progress Tracking

This is where the physical progress for each work package can be booked on a weekly basis.

The physical progress will be available for booking from the start week to end week however a new weeks progress will only be available for booking the week has started.

  1. Select the blue cell for the WP to book progress for.

  2. Once the progress has been added it will calculate a total based on the previous weeks progress.

  3. If you wish to change or book missing progress for a prior week select the lock icon to unlock that week.
