Proteus Add-in

Depending on your Sharepoint permissions you need an MS admin to enable the ability to obtain the add-in. Alternatively the admin could give access to the Proteus add-in by adding it Admin Managed which will give all users access.

Accessing the Proteus Add-in for the first time

On the home page select Add-ins.

Select the + More Add-ins button.

You will be able to see If you already have access to the add-in, check both My Add-Ins and Admin Managed. If the add-in is available you can ignore these steps.

If the Add-in is not visible select Find more add-ins at Microsoft AppSource at the bottom of the screen.

Use the search bar at the top of the screen to find Proteus.

The Add-in should appear (as below) select Get it now against the Proteus add-in.

Add your user details then select Get it now at the bottom.

Select Open in Word. This will request to take you back to word to use the add-in.

The Add-in should now appear in My Add-Ins.

Select the Proteus Add-in and select Add at the bottom of the screen.

You should now see the Proteus add-in home bar.

Login to the Proteus sidebar

To open the sidebar select the Proteus symbol and then Sign into your Proteus account with your Microsoft or Proteus credentials.

The first time using the add-in your will need to sign in to your Proteus account, it will save the login for subsequent uses.

Select your Proteus tenant then you can select the Proposal or Project record to link to this word document. You can use the search function to find the record using either the reference or title.

You can now add the document tags and blocks to create or template or complete your proposal document.

Document Blocks and Tags

There are a large number of Document blocks and tags available that can be setup on your Proposal document, Report, Letter or Note. And by just selecting sync you will be able to automatically populate the information from Proteus onto word.

Adding Template tags to the document

Select Add Template Tags, A drop down of available template tags will appear select the tag to apply to the document and select Insert.

The tag will appear on the document at the spot where the mouse was selecting.

Syncing the Document tags and blocks

To populate the tags and blocks select the Sync button this will fetch the data from Proteus and populate it on the word document.

You are also able to refresh the blocks. If a change is made on the WBS within Proteus the WBS catalogue or summary blocks will not update automatically to reflect this. However by selecting the refresh button this change will then be updated for the respective block on the word document.
